From full spectrum tinctures to cannabidiol-infused skin care; CBD products are one of the fastest growing well-being supplements in both the US and the UK. And with hundreds of A-list celebrities sharing their positive experiences from using CBD, the industry is growing at an incredible rate. So, we’ve taken a look at 9 famous faces who have been shouting about their love for hemp-based supplements over the last few years:
Back in 2019, Kim famously threw a CBD-themed baby shower before the birth of her fourth child, Psalm, introducing a lot of her friends and family to CBD’s relaxing benefits for the first time.
She told guests, “I thought it was kind of ridiculous to have a fourth baby shower. But I thought I’m freaking the f*ck out having a fourth kid… So everyone have a puff and put on some oil.”
As a businesswoman, law student and mother of four – not to mention being a member of arguably the most renowned family in the world, Kim K is ridiculously busy. Talking to The Daily Mail, she said: “How do I do it all? It is exhausting. I just say CBD. [laughs] But I do. It’s gotten me through a lot.”
She added that she’s “not a weed smoker at all, but I got into CBD a few months ago. It’s saved my life. Even to sleep at night. I like the CBD gummies. I will just use a little bit and fall asleep [laughs]. I don’t think I would take a Xanax or an Ambien again.”
Another famous LA resident who has been gushing about her love for CBD is the ageless beauty and superstar actress, Jennifer Aniston. She said “[CBD] helps me with pain, stress, and anxiety. It has all the benefits of marijuana without the high.”
Morgan Freeman has long used his soothing voice to push for medical marijuana legislation, and his advocacy for the use of cannabidiols for recovery has really helped to normalise the conversation. Talking about the use of hemp, he said, “I have fibromyalgia pain in [this] arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana.”
MMA fighter, Nate Diaz, famously blazed the trail for athletes to talk more openly about using CBD for fitness recovery when he vaped CBD oil at a press conference back in 2018. Some say that it was this controversial decision that helped spur the World Anti-Doping Agency to make the wise decision to remove CBD from the banned substances.
At the time, Diaz told reporters; “It’s CBD. It helps with the healing process and inflammation., stuff like that. So, you want to get these before and after the fights and training. It’ll make your life a better place.”
Another Hollywood actress who advocates the use of CBD skin care as a natural health remedy is actress and filmmaker, Olivia Wilde.
She told the New York Times, “I’ve been using this body lotion that has CBD in it.
“Recently I did a play on Broadway for six months, and my body was wrecked – my neck was really tight. The CBD has relaxing benefits, and the idea is to avoid using too many painkillers.”
Michael J. Fox
Back to the Future actor Michael J. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at just 29 years old, has also become a huge CBD advocate, particularly in recent years. He said, “If there is anything working with CBD Oil has shown me, it’s that there is always hope. Even for the hopeless.”
The iconic actress and comedian, Whoopi Goldberg actively supports the use of CBD among middle-aged women, in the past she has mentioned using CBD to relieve menstrual cramps, nerve pain, and menopausal discomfort, for example. She also claimed to use a vape pen regularly to treat glaucoma, saying; “Several years ago I gave up smoking cigarettes, and unfortunately that included rolled weed. Afterwards, my discomfort from glaucoma resurfaced. Then something important happened to me. My daughter gave me my first [CBD] vape pen, and I began to see it as the medicine it is.”
One of the best-known Victoria’s Secret Angels, Alessandra Ambrosio, has been outspoken in support of CBD since 2017 – and she recently said, “The most important thing to do [to prep for the Victoria’s Secret Show] is to sleep eight hours the night before but it’s hard because the mind gets anxious, so I try CBD oil and I think it helps.”
Last but not least; Seth Rogen has never been shy about his love for cannabis, and the Canadian actor and comedian has always raised his voice in support for the legalisation of cannabis nationwide. In more recent years, he had turned his attention to the use of CBD for Alzheimer’s disease, after his mother-in-law was given an early diagnosis – and back in 2014 he appeared before the US Congress to advocate further research into the medical benefits of THC and CBD.
